Strengthening a person’s resources to improve their long term use. How can you use the weak end of the range of an innate ability to help with a person’s long term chronic pain management?

My name is Eugene Irvin

All innate abilities or resources, this has the same meaning here, have a potential range. The range might vary from small/ low/ slightly/ vague to big/ large/ intense/ extremely.

For example:
Suggesting the person has a rigid arm. If successful, this might range from slightly rigid to extremely rigid almost to the point of pain.

Another example is suggesting a person imagines the colour blue. If successful, this might range from a vague pure blue colour to an intense pure blue colour, almost painful in its intensity.

The lower end of a resource range is not necessarily `weak.’
In future videos I will describe in detail 26 ways that low level innate abilities and the low level parameters that describe a resource in detail, both sometimes called weak, might be effective for long term use.

For example:
A weak resource may be highly reliable and be effective over long periods of time in stressful real life situations. Thus this lower level of a resource may have enormous practical value and effectiveness simply because it is very reliably achieved in stressful and untrialled situations.

A resource has varying levels of how it might respond over a long period of time.

With long term use of any resource, there will be variations of the resources strength. The person needs to know how to handle those resource ranking differences in the clinical trialling before the person uses the resources in the real world.

An example would be where the resource has always been very strong in the clinic and it usually is in the real world but under time of high stress and especially over a longer period of time, the resource is not as strong. The person may not know how to effectively use the resource when it is only weak or moderately strong.

The resource at weak or moderate strength needs to be tested in the clinic so that the person is aware that all is not lost and that the resource still has very real practical worth.
The aim of this is to reduce the chances for the person to lose their confidence when the normal fluctuations occur in real life scenarios.

It is also to make the person aware of the differences and what to expect.
One needs to prepare the person for when resource strength is reduced. I think it is a reasonable assumption to say it will most likely occur.

The detailed description of ways these low level innate abilities and low level parameter ranges might be used will involve a number of future videos.

This video on weak resources is just making one aware there will be more information for questioning, debate and especially constructive criticism. Without this approach, it is simply me telling you something in a close ended fashion. That is definitely not my style.

An innate ability is:

A characteristic/ability of a person which can be accessed by the person and/or therapist when required.

An innate ability is something which is measurable. Therefore, entities such as ego strength or willpower are not defined as innate abilities in this model.

An innate ability is something the person is aware of or can be made aware of.  This `awareness’ may be affective, sensory, motor or cognitive responses. If the person cannot be made aware of these characteristics/responses occurring, then it cannot be deemed as an innate ability.

An innate ability is something which can be repeatedly attained and has parameters which can qualitatively and quantitatively describe it.

An innate ability is something the person has within themselves, it is not external.

I do not see any structure which would assist me in being creative as to how those neglected resources might be used.
