Any techniques which can forecast possible problems with long term resource usage means the therapist can design strategies for `getting around those issues’ before they occur. In other words, being able to better predict and address problems.
Let’s assume the person is capable of being able to achieve an age progression. This age progression may vary from a very conscious role playing age progression to a deep trance hypnotic age progression. The classical deep trance progression may be accompanied by amnesia and a strong involvement emotionally, behaviourally and cognitively with this future role playing. In other words, a traditional understanding of a deep trance hypnotic phenomena.
This video presents one way for approaching an age progression.
Simply ask this question:
Is age regression the opposite end of the age travelling spectrum? There are many differing types of logic that could present this idea of, what I will call, an age travelling spectrum as being true to a smaller or greater extent.
Doing age regression techniques may be an important part of making age progression a believable strategy with the person. I would be reluctant to present it to the person as being a fact or totally true. This is very presumptuous to expect all parts of the person’s mind to accept this completely and of course is untestable.
Age progressions cannot be verified as being true because they have not occurred yet. Age regressions can be verified as being true. Reframing age progressions in the logic form as simply being the same brain and cognitive mechanism as age regression, just in different time directions may be presented. It is a hypothetical construct and I question whether you have to present this construct as being completely true to the person, but just for it to sound reasonable.
It is well known that a person can be told they are having a placebo medication, but it still functions successfully in spite of the person knowing it is not the real medicine. Same idea.
The way age regression might be done is a huge topic and will be covered in numerous other videos. It can be done in many ways.
My emphasis here is making the age regression and the logic why it is occurring as being basically the same logic for age progression. Having a person accept this logic on a more unconscious level is, of course, where the real questions and problems arise.

- Eyes open may change the meaning to clients. Always be aware of the large difference between eyes open and eyes closed. Belief may be stronger if client experiences a visual with `eyes open.’
- Imagined means the persons’ visualisation is of something which is not real, it is a `figment of their imagination.’
- A reader may think that a visual appearing near/ distant should be on the same line. The way each of these submodalities might be used however may be quite different. You may want to combine in a meaningful way an imagined object coming nearer and that imagined object moving into the distance. Thus two distinct usages of each of those submodalities may be combined in such a way to enhance the effectiveness of each of the individual submodalities.
- Many times there are no clear boundaries between the categories. It is only meant to be a rough classification. Every person would have their own list which may differ considerably from this list.
